Welcome guys! Aldi Satya Mahendra and Can Oncu with Evan Bros Yamaha Racing in WorldSSP 2025

Having completed and archived a 2024 season full of satisfaction and moments to remember, Evan Bros Yamaha Racing is pleased to announce its line - up for the 2025 season, which promises to be just as electrifying. Three years after the last time, Evan Bros Yamaha Racing (who will also be officially supported by Yamaha in 2025) will once again field two riders in the Supersport World Championship, with a young pair ready to impress, riding two Yamaha R9.

The first new entry bears the name of bLU cRU rider Aldi Satya Mahendra who, after winning the WorldSSP300 title last season, will make his WorldSSP debut in 2025 with Evan Bros Yamaha Racing, as part of Yamaha's project dedicated to the young talents of the future. Born in Yogyakarta Bantul (Indonesia) on 27 June 2006, Mahendra began his career in 2015 in his country's national championships, before making his international debut in 2019 in the Asia Road Racing Championship.

In 2023 he joins the bLU cRU programme and takes part in the FIM Yamaha R3 bLU cRU World Cup: he conquers his first podium in the second round, and then takes his first victory in the following round, fighting for the category title until the last race of the year. In the same year he debuted as a wild card in the WorldSSP300 at Most, taking an incredible victory in Race 2. In 2024 he had his first full season in WorldSSP300, becoming champion thanks to one win and a total of eight podiums.

Alongside Mahendra will be the other new addition to the 2025 Evan Bros Yamaha Racing line-up, Can Oncu, ready to tackle his sixth season in WorldSSP, his first on a Yamaha.

Born in Alanya (Turkey) on 26 July 2003, Oncu started to make his mark in 2017 in the Asia Talent Cup and the Red Bull Rookies Cup. The following year he won the Rookies Cup but more importantly he wrote history, winning the last Moto3 race in Valencia (as a wild card) and thus becoming the youngest rider ever to win a Grand Prix. After just one full season in Moto3 he moved to Supersport in 2020, where he can already boast one win, 14 podiums and a third place in the 2022 season final standings.

The first test for the new Evan Bros Yamaha Racing line-up is scheduled for Thursday 7 and Friday 8 November at Cremona, for a two-day test where the two riders will get to know the new Yamaha R9.

Aldi Satya Mahendra
“I am really happy to be promoted to WorldSSP, with a great team like Evan Bros. It is a new challenge, where I will have to learn step by step, while trying to adapt to the bike and the category, in order to get good results as soon as possible”.

Can Oncu
“The year 2025 represents a new challenge for me, which I can't wait to start together with Yamaha and Evan Bros. I am motivated and eager to achieve great results, riding a new bike and therefore getting to know it. I would like to thank everyone who has put their trust in me”.

Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal)

“I am very happy with this new project. As soon as Yamaha Motor Europe proposed it to me I accepted with enthusiasm, as we will be able to work with two young and fast riders. I have been following both Aldi and Can for some time: Aldi in this 2024 has surprised me with his mentality and maturity, while Can has already shown that he can be a protagonist in WorldSSP. I would like to thank Yamaha Motor Europe and therefore Paolo Pavesio, Andrea Dosoli and Nicolò Canepa for their confidence in us. We are very motivated, both in terms of the new Yamaha R9 and the riders, and the days spent at Germo di Lesmo were very useful for the future. We can't wait to get started”.
