The season of the Evan Bros WorldSSP Yamaha Team ends in a very sweet way, with Valentin Debise immediately able to redeem himself after the bad luck of Race 1. In Race 2 in fact the French rider conquered a beautiful second position, thanks to a race where he mixed speed and intelligence.
Starting from the sixth position, Debise immediately recovered positions, so much so that he even closed the first lap in second position. As the race continued, Valentin put pressure on the leader Manzi, arriving in his slipstream with three laps to go, but he lost a few meters again due to a small mistake in turn 6.
However, the French rider did not give up, ending the race and the season with two really fast laps, thanks to which he both defended the second position and closed in on the first, passing under the chequered flag less than three tenths from victory. A brilliant performance by Debise, who concludes an equally brilliant season in style.
Valentin and the Evan Bros WorldSSP Yamaha Team have together conquered seven podiums, with Debise fourth in the general classification with 238 points and the team from Ravenna fifth in the team classification, as well as third among the teams with only one rider. Numbers that confirm the great value of rider, team and bike, in a 2024 to be archived with a smile. The Evan Bros WorldSSP Yamaha Team thanks all the partners of the season, and is ready to look forward to 2025 with motivation.
Valentin Debise
“I knew from yesterday that I was fast, and today I wanted to be fast since the start. I was able to ride aggressively already in the first laps, so I was able to keep up with Manzi and even catch him. Unfortunately, in the straight leading to turn six I was slightly sucked into his slipstream, so at the next corner I went wide, and those few tenths lost prevented me from attacking him at the end. I still managed to defend second position and this result is a great way to end the season. I made a few mistakes during the year but fourth place overall is a great result: I thank the team for a great season, we really enjoyed it”.
Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal)
“After a complicated 2023 we wanted to restart in the right gear, and we definitely succeeded. Together with Valentin we had a great season, with several podiums and exciting moments, with a fourth place in the overall standings that confirms our value. We took the R6, the bike with which we won two world titles and which we will now have to say goodbye to, several times on the podium, and to finish with a podium was what we wanted. I am satisfied with the work of the whole team and Valentin. Thanks to all the partners that allow us to continue living our passion to the full”.
