Debise ends Estoril weekend in style: stunning podium in Race 2

A sweet end to the weekend for the Evan Bros WorldSSP Yamaha Team, who for the second weekend in a row put their feet up on the podium. Thanks to Valentin Debise, who was able to take a beautiful third place in Race 2 at Estoril.

At the beginning of Race 2 Debise got off to a good start, crossing the line at the end of the first lap in fourth position. Slipping into P5 on the next lap, Valentin then started his comeback, taking third position on lap 11. In the remaining laps of the race, the Frenchman was perfect in defending himself from the pressure of his compatriot Mahias, thus conquering an exciting podium, his sixth of the season.

By virtue of the weekend's results Debise remains in fourth position in the overall standings, on 218 points, while the Evan Bros WorldSSP Yamaha Team is fifth in the team standings. Team and rider are now ready for the final round of the season, scheduled for next weekend at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit.

Valentin Debise
“It was a very good race. At the beginning of the race I had a better pace than I expressed, but once I got into the right gear I was able to get ahead of Mahias and set my fastest lap in the final. It was not easy to defend the position, also because seeing on your pit board that the advantage over those behind you is zero puts pressure on you, but it went as well as possible. Happy to have given another podium to the team, whom I thank for their excellent work this weekend. Thinking that next weekend will be the last weekend of the year makes me a little sad, but I'm sure we will have fun”.

Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal)
“Valentin did an almost perfect race, especially in the second half, after a slightly complicated start. He withstood the pressure well and did not make any mistakes, which allowed him to take another podium. We have been on the podium in more than half of the rounds so far, which motivates us and repays us for the work we have done. Now we want to finish on a high in Jerez”.
