A crash ends Debise's podium chase in Race 1

Great feeling and an unfortunate ending for the Evan Bros WorldSSP Yamaha Team on Saturday at Estoril. Valentin Debise in fact was once again a great protagonist, but his in Race 1 ended in a retirement.

After finishing third in the Warm Up, held on a wet track, Debise took to the track in the afternoon for Race 1, which took place in dry conditions. In the early stages of the race, the French rider took fourth place, then chased the podium. On lap 15, however, Valentin crashed in turn 1: thanks to the small amount of damage to the bike Valentin was able to rejoin, but a second crash on lap 16 put an end to his race.

Tomorrow Debise will be back on track for Race 2, starting from the third position and therefore from the front row, by virtue of the third fastest time set in Race 1. The race will start at 16.15 CET.

Valentin Debise
This morning the rain that fell did not allow us to take advantage of the Warm Up in the best possible way, and running the race with just a few information is never easy. However, the bike worked well, and by the second half of the race I felt I had the potential to recover on the podium area. Unfortunately I crashed, and after getting back on track I crashed a second time, but the speed was there and we'll try to make the most of it tomorrow”.

Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal)
“I am happy with the potential expressed by Valentin, but the result certainly cannot satisfy me. It's a pity that the race went this way because we once again showed our speed, but races are also this and I'm sure Valentin will be able to make up for it tomorrow”.
