Venerdì perfetto per lo Yamaha BLU CRU Evan Bros Team ad Estoril. Can Oncu e Alberto Surra infatti si sono presi la scena nella Superpole portoghese, firmando un eccellente doppietta che motiva tutta la squadra in vista del proseguo del weekend.
In mattinata è andato in scena l’unico turno di prove libere a disposizione. Oncu ha messo a referto 17° giri conquistando la prima posizione, mentre Surra la terza con lo stesso numero fi passaggi.
In Superpole Oncu ha conquistato la prima posizione a venti minuti dal termine della sessione, grazie al crono di 1’39”60, e tale giro veloce gli è valso una splendida pole position, nonostante una piccola caduta. Per Can si tratta della quarta pole in stagione.
Surra invece ha sfruttato la sessione sino agli ultimi minuti a disposizione, firmando nel suo ultimo giro valido il secondo tempo, a 269 millesimi dal compagno di squadra. Anche Alberto si è reso protagonista di una piccola scivolata nel finale di sessione, senza conseguenze.
Ora è tutto pronto per le gare. Domani – ore 13.35 CET - andrà in scena Gara 1, sulla distanza di 18 giri. La corsa sarà trasmessa live su Sky Sport MotoGP, canale 208.
Can Oncu
“Sono molto felice e motivato. Abbiamo iniziato il weekend nel migliore dei modi ed i risultati si vedono, anche grazie all’incredibile lavoro del team. Ora dovrò lavorare per la gara, ma posso dire che siamo quasi pronti per puntare al massimo. In gara tutto può cambiare ma certamente abbiamo un’ottima base e ho collaborato al meglio con Surra: abbiamo fatto un ottimo lavoro di squadra e siamo pronti per divertirci”.

“E’ stata una Superpole ottima, e sono molto contento di essere riuscito finalmente a cogliere un risultato di rilievo. Partire in prima fila mi aiuterà non poco, e grazie al mio passo penso di poter puntare alle prime posizioni. Il team sta facendo un lavoro impeccabile quindi dobbiamo restare concentrati per fare bene in gara”.
It was a perfect Friday for the Yamaha BLU CRU Evan Bros Team at Estoril. Can Oncu and Alberto Surra stole the show in the Portuguese Superpole, securing an excellent one-two finish that has motivated the whole team ahead of the rest of the weekend.
The only free practice session took place in the morning. Oncu completed 17 laps and took first place, while Surra finished third with the same number of laps.
In Superpole, Oncu took first place twenty minutes before the end of the session, thanks to a time of 1'39"60, and that fast lap earned him a splendid pole position, despite a small crash. For Can this is his fourth pole position of the season.
Surra, on the other hand, made the most of the session until the last few minutes, setting the second fastest time on his last flying lap, 269 thousandths of a second behind his teammate. Alberto also had a small crash at the end of the session, without consequences.
Now everything is ready for the races. Tomorrow at 13:35 CET, Race 1 will take place over 18 laps.
Can Oncu
“I am very happy and motivated. We started the weekend in the best possible way and the results are there to be seen, thanks also to the incredible work of the team. Now I have to work for the race, but I can say that we are almost ready to aim for the top. Anything can change in the race, but we certainly have an excellent base and I have worked very well with Surra: we have done a great job as a team and we are ready to have fun”.
