Can Oncu

Domani ci riproveremo”.

Alberto Surra

Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal)

Oncu finishes 2nd in Race 1 after an exciting battle for victory, Surra makes a great comeback to finish P9

An electrifying Race 1 at Aragon for the Yamaha BLU CRU Evan Bros Team, again on the podium thanks to an excellent performance by Can Oncu, who finished 2nd. It was also a very positive race for Alberto Surra, who managed to recover from 20th to 9th position.

Oncu got off to an excellent start from P5, taking 2nd position at the first corner. As the race progressed, Oncu managed to pull away from the rest of the pack along with Debise, setting up an exciting battle for the win on the final lap. Can looked for the right moment to overtake but couldn't find it, still managing to secure a fantastic 2nd place, just 197 thousandths of a second behind the winner. This is Oncu's sixth consecutive podium finish.

Surra also had a very positive start, managing to recover six positions in the first lap. During the 10th lap, Alberto entered the top ten, managing to climb up to P9 in the final stages, thus recovering eleven positions from his starting position.

Race 2 will take place tomorrow, starting at 12.35 CET and consisting of 15 laps. Based on the classification of the nine fastest laps recorded in Race 1, Oncu will start from 7th place, while Surra will start from P20 again.

Can Oncu

“I am very happy with this result, and I want to thank both the team and Yamaha for all their hard work. Obviously, I would have liked to win, but second place is still very positive. On the last lap, I tried to win, but Debise had something more than me in the last corner, and that made the difference. We will try again tomorrow”.

Alberto Surra

“I am very satisfied with my result given my 20th position on the starting grid. I am sure that if I had started further up the grid, I could have aimed for the top five, which motivates me for the rest of the weekend. Tomorrow I will try again to recover and score valuable points”.

Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal)

“It was definitely a positive day. Can showed great improvement compared to yesterday and did a race full of spirit: he deserved the win, but P2 is an excellent result, also in terms of the championship. Alberto was called upon to make a great comeback and he didn't hold back: finishing in the top ten after starting 20th is valuable, so he deserves great praise. Tomorrow we will try to do even better”.
