Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal)
After a break of just over a month, which was used to analyse the initial data and work on making progress, ZXMOTO Factory Evan Bros Racing is ready to return to the track this weekend at the spectacular Portimao circuit, for the second round of the 2026 World Supersport Championship. A new opportunity to seek success, but also to continue exploring the capabilities of the ZXMOTO 820RR.
Valentin Debise arrives at the Portuguese circuit on the back of an excellent performance in the opening round at Phillip Island, where he managed to secure an incredible front-row start in ZXMOTO’s historic first Superpole in Supersport. The race results did not reflect the potential shown by the French rider, who will therefore be chasing points on the undulating Portuguese track.
There were also positive signs for Federico Caricasulo in the first round, with the Ravenna-based rider keen to improve his understanding of the 820RR, climb the standings and prove his worth. Portimao holds fond memories for Federico, who previously won in Supersport on the twisty Portuguese circuit in 2019.
As usual, the weekend will kick off on Friday morning with the only free practice session, whilst Superpole will take place in the afternoon. Race 1 and Race 2 will be held on Saturday and Sunday, both at 14 CET.
Valentin Debise
“I can’t wait to get out on track, as we recently held a test at Portimao and were able to carry out several useful runs: I feel I know the bike better, and I’m keen to see how much progress I’ve made. This weekend will also be useful for understanding whether we’re on the right way with the setup, so there are plenty of reasons to get started as soon as possible!”
Federico Caricasulo
“I’m arriving at this Portimao round feeling very motivated. The two days of testing went well and I’ve identified the areas where we need to improve: we’re doing a good job. The goal for Portimao is to adapt my riding style more to the bike and conversely. I want to keep working without thinking about the results, at least at the start of the season”.
Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal)
“We’re kicking off the European season at a track that has always brought us luck, and where we’ve recently carried out some quite positive tests. We’re trying to get to grips with the bike, and we’re certainly arriving at Portimao with a lot of useful information. The bike is reliable and the lap times have been encouraging, so I can say that the goal for the weekend is to break into the top ten, demonstrating the value of our work”.
