Can Oncu

Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal)

The Yamaha BLU CRU Evan Bros Team is Supersport Teams’ World Champion!

The second day of racing in Jerez marked the end of the Spanish round, but above all the end of the 2025 Supersport World Championship season. For Yamaha BLU CRU Evan Bros, the last Sunday of action was very sweet, as the Ravenna-based team clinched its second Supersport teams’ world title in its history.

In Race 2, Yamaha BLU CRU Evan Bros fielded only Can Oncu, as Alberto Surra was declared unfit for the rest of the weekend due to problems with his right shoulder. At the start of Race 2, Oncu took advantage of his pole position to immediately move into the leading positions. After staying in contact with the podium in the first part of the race, Oncu lost ground in the second half, but managed the final stages intelligently and took fourth place.

This result allowed the Yamaha BLU CRU Evan Bros Team to celebrate the teams’ world title. This result confirms the great work done again this season by the Ravenna-based team, which achieved six victories and a total of 17 podiums throughout the season. Oncu finished his season in second place in the overall standings with 372 points, Aldi Mahendra finished P17 with 73 points, while Alberto Surra finished P19 with 63 points. Another season has come to an end, but the passion and desire to excel remains the same.

Can Oncu

“I was disappointed not to finish on the podium in this last race of the year, but despite the pace I maintained throughout the race, I was missing something to really aim for that goal. However, it was still a positive race in a wonderful season, where I finished second in the overall standings and the team won the teams’ title. I really want to thank the team from the bottom of my heart for everything they have given me throughout 2025”.

Alberto Surra

“Unfortunately, luck was not on my side today. After a few laps of the warm up, I felt a lack of strength in my right arm, and after a medical check-up, I was declared unfit for Race 2. It's a shame, but I want to thank the team for the fantastic work they have done for me from my first race to today: I have grown a lot in these weeks with the team, which has also become like a family”.

Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal)

"We are World Champions! This teams’ title rewards us for another season of hard work and sacrifice, but also of joy and satisfaction. After all, passion drives us to do more and more. Today in Race 2, Oncu ended his season with a positive P4, and I can only thank him for what we have achieved together over the course of the year. Surra was stopped by a physical problem, but it was a pleasure to experience the last rounds of the season with him”.
