Debise magnifique!

Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal)

Debise magnifique! Splendid victory in Race 1, Caricasulo fights back to take P9

It was an exciting Saturday for the EASTROC ZXMOTO Evan Bros Factory team at Misano, where Valentin Debise secured a splendid victory in Race 1. It was also a positive race for Federico Caricasulo, who fought his way back to take P9.

At the start Debise got off to a good start from third on the grid, moving up to second place during the fifth lap. In the second half of the race, Debise pulled away from his rivals alongside Arenas, setting the stage for a thrilling final battle for victory. On the final lap, the French rider made his attack at the “Curvone”, the fastest point on the track, taking the lead and securing the win. This is Debise’s sixth win of the season: no rider has won more since the start of the year.

Caricasulo got off to a good start from P13, spending several laps on the fringes of the top ten. During the 14th lap, Federico broke into the top ten, securing a creditable ninth place on the last lap.

Tomorrow the EASTROC ZXMOTO Evan Bros Factory team will return to the track for Race 2, which starts at 14 CET and will run over 18 laps. Based on the standings from the nine fastest lap times in Race 1, Debise will start from pole position, whilst Caricasulo will start from P14.

Valentin Debise

“I didn’t expect to be so quick at the start of the race, and I had to push really hard to keep up with the leaders. In the second half of the race I felt more comfortable and was able to keep up with Arenas, and in the last three laps I realised I had a bit more in the tank in terms of pace, even though it would have been risky to overtake before the final lap. So on the final lap I looked for the right gap to pass and managed it. It was a brilliant finish and I’m really happy to have given the team this win at their home round”.

Federico Caricasulo

“Unfortunately, I lost time in the traffic during the opening laps; after all, that can happen when you start a bit further back on the grid. I still maintained a good pace, which could have been good enough for fifth or sixth place. Ninth place is encouraging, but we can do better. Tomorrow I’ll have to set up another race to fight my way back up, but I hope to do better in the opening laps”.

Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal)

“It was a Saturday to remember, with some unique emotions. The team responded brilliantly to the issues we faced at Aragon and the result speaks for itself. We didn’t get off to a perfect start yesterday, but we managed to give to Debise a package capable of winning, and he put in a simply exceptional race, especially in the closing stages where he overtook Arenas with great skill. Caricasulo’s ninth place is interesting because you can see the improvement, even if he’s still a few tenths off the pace. We think he can do even better tomorrow”.
