Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal)
Domani ci riproveremo”.
The EASTROC ZXMOTO Evan Bros Factory team has completed its first race at Aragon. Valentin Debise rode a cautious race, finishing in eighth place. It was a more challenging race for Federico Caricasulo, who was slowed down by a technical issue.
Starting from the front row, Debise finished the first lap in third place. After dropping to seventh place during the fourth lap, Valentin maintained his position with a steady pace until the penultimate lap, when he moved up to P8, finishing the race in that position.
Caricasulo got off to a good start, only to lose several positions during the second lap. In the second half of the race, Federico made a “pit stop”, returning to the track with the aim of gathering useful data for the future, and finished the race at the back of the pack.
Tomorrow, the EASTROC ZXMOTO Evan Bros Factory team will be back on track for Race 2, which starts at 14:00 CET and will run over 15 laps. Based on the top nine fastest times from Race 1, Debise will start from 10th on the grid, whilst Caricasulo will start from P15.
Valentin Debise
“We knew that with the high temperatures it wouldn’t be an easy race, and that’s exactly how it turned out. We’ve still learnt a lot of useful things and picked up points for the championship, so that’s fine. Tomorrow we’ll try to achieve a bit more”.
Federico Caricasulo
“I felt good after the Warm Up, but everything went worse in the race. At the end of the first lap, I was pushed off the track by a rival, but generally I didn’t have the pace I would have liked: towards the end, I went to the pit to do a time attack for Race 2 starting grid, but for a combination of reasons I couldn’t set a fast lap, so I’ll start from P15. We can certainly improve, given that I’m quick in certain conditions, but today we struggled”.
Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal)
“We need to be aware that we’re working on a new project, where every condition can be a new challenge, and the intense heat at Aragon is a case in point. We’re trying to figure out how to get the bike working at its best in very hot conditions, and we’re on the right track. Debise rode a smart race and picked up important points, whilst Caricasulo had to contend with an off day. We’ll try again tomorrow”.
