Luck does not smile on the Evan Bros WorldSSP Yamaha Team on Saturday at Jerez

It ended on a bitter note on Saturday for the Evan Bros WorldSSP Yamaha Team, who together with Valentin Debise chased the podium in Race 1, only to have to surrender to a mishap that ended the race.

At the start of Race 1 Debise got off to the right start and climbed up to fourth position in just five laps. In the following passages Valentin chased the third position occupied by Huertas, getting closer lap after lap, only to be forced to return to the pits due to a technical problem.

Tomorrow the Evan Bros and Debise will return to the track in search of redemption. Race 2 will start at 15.30 CET, and will bring the Supersport World Championship to the headlines. Valentin will start from sixth position, by virtue of the sixth fastest time set in Race 1.

Valentin Debise
“I had a good start, and although I didn't have the best feeling I managed to make up positions lap after lap. I found myself in fourth position, with the podium in my sights, but unfortunately a problem with the bike put an end to our race. These things happen, but tomorrow we will have another chance to finish this season in the right way”.

Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal)
“Unfortunately technical problems can also happen in races, and today it was our turn. It's a pity because Valentin was having a very good race and the podium could have been within our reach. Tomorrow there is one last race to be run: the aim is to have fun and end the season with a big smile”.
