Brilliant podium for Carrasco and the Evan Bros Racing Yamaha Team in Race 2 in Misano

It was a sparkling end to the weekend for the Evan Bros Racing Yamaha Team, with Ana Carrasco able to take her second podium in two races. In Race 2 the Spanish rider was again among the protagonists, conquering third place with character and the right amount of temper.

Starting from pole position, Ana immediately managed to take the lead of the race, going away together with three rivals. As the race went on, the quartet exchanged positions several times, while in the final Carrasco and Neila slightly lost contact with the duo fighting for victory. On the last lap the Spanish rider confirmed her speed, winning the duel with her compatriot and taking an excellent podium place.

By virtue of the results obtained in the first historic weekend of the FIM Women's World Championship, Carrasco now occupies second position - co-habiting with Sanchez - in the overall standings, with 36 points. Ana and the Evan Bros Racing Yamaha Team will be back on track for the second round from 12 to 14 July, at the British track of Donington.

Ana Carrasco
"It was not an easy race. Right from the start I realized I didn't have the same confidence as yesterday, struggling to maintain a certain pace. Two laps from the end Neila overtook me and we lost time and ground from the leading duo, so in the final I could only fight for third place. It's always nice to be on the podium, and I feel I gave it my all: we have to be satisfied, but me and the team want more, so we will work hard to reach the goal. Now we're looking forward to Donington, a track where I have won in the past and which I like a lot, so I hope to enjoy it".

Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal)
"It was a long race, with a continuous change of positions. At the end Ana found herself slightly behind the duo fighting for success, but she still managed to get a place on the podium. We are satisfied, but we want to work to help her achieve even more".
