Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team concludes Jerez test with good feeling

The 2023 Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team takes shape. After an initial shakedown at the Cartagena track, the team from Ravenna and its new rider Andrea Mantovani took part in an intense two-day test at Jerez de la Frontera. Despite the cold weather the team and rider managed to make the most of the two days, taking important steps in view of the future.

On day one Mantovani began to get to grips with the team's Yamaha YZF-R6, showing a willingness to learn: Andrea put in 83 laps, finishing just a few tenths of a second off the SSP leader. On the second day, the Italian rider even increased his presence on the track, completing 88 laps, during which he was able to carry out several set-up tests, useful for understanding the correct path to take.

At the end of the two days on Andalusian soil the Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team will return to the track for the official Dorna test, scheduled for Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st at the Phillip island track, which will host the first round of the 2023 World Supersport Championship season the following weekend.

Andrea Mantovani: "They were two really exciting days. The overall balance is certainly positive: now it's time to analyze the many data collected, to understand where we need to improve and how to do it. Both the team and I gave our best, which is fundamental to do well: we are a new duo, which needs time, but on the race pace we are already competitive. I thank the team for their fantastic work, I can't wait to get back on the bike”.

Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal): "I'm satisfied with how the test went, for many reasons. The atmosphere in the box is great, and the progress on track was not lacking, so I can only be confident. Andrea needs time, but he has a lot of desire to grow and learn, which we want to support with our work".
