The Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team is pleased to announce the signing of Andrea Mantovani for the 2023 season, ready to make his debut in the World Supersport Championship riding the Ravenna based team's Yamaha YZF-R6. In 2021 he makes his debut in the Superbike World Championship, contesting two rounds, and already managing to pick up – at a selective track like Assen - his first points in the first opportunity. In 2022 he is one of the main protagonists of the CIV Superbike, where he conquers the fourth position in the championship thanks to four podiums, and rides two rounds of the MotoE championship, taking the fourth place at Mugello.

Now for Andrea, matured and improved season after season, it is time for a new challenge in WorldSSP, together with the world champion team of the category in both 2019 and 2020 season. A duo determined to aim high.

Andrea Mantovani: "I am really happy to have signed with the Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team, it is a wonderful opportunity. I will have to adapt quickly to riding the 600s, after a few seasons on the 1000s, but I am sure that by working hard we can be competitive straight away. We will start the season at two tracks that I don't know, but that shouldn't scare us: I can't wait to start this wonderful adventure”.

Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal):
"I am very happy to welcome Andrea to the team. He's a guy we've been following for a while: we think he's an excellent rider, capable with the right items of expressing his high potential. He will certainly need a period of adaptation, but I'm sure together we can quickly have fun and get results. I want to thank Yamaha, who will support us again next season by believing in us, and all the partners who have made this agreement possible".

Mauro Pellegrini (Crew Chief):
“Andrea is a guy I care about, and in whom I believe a lot. He has made important steps forward in the last period, improving and maturing in the right way. I am convinced that this is the right time to start this adventure together”.
