The wait is over! The BARDAHL Evan Bros. WorldSSP Team ready for the second round of the season at Jerez circuit

The BARDAHL Evan Bros. WorldSSP Team is ready to get back on track this weekend at the Spanish track of Jerez de la Frontera, for the second round of the 2020 WorldSSP Championship season. A round with great symbolic significance, which puts an end to the long forced break caused by the Coronavirus emergency.

In the first Grand Prix of the season, held in March at Phillip Island, the team and the rider Andrea Locatelli (making his debut in the category) have shone by conquering both the pole position and the win, at the end of a race literally dominated by the rider from Bergamo number 55.

During the almost five months of stop Locatelli was able to test again the asphalt and his Yamaha YZF-R6 first in the tests in Cremona, then in Misano and finally at Mugello, where he raced as a wild card in the first round of the CIV 2020, winning with a gap both races.

Now a new and exciting challenge is coming up for both rider and team, represented by the 4,423 km of the circuit named after Angel Nieto, where Locatelli tested for the first time ever (in November 2019) the R6 of the reigning world champion team, being immediately very fast.

The novelty to face in this second weekend of the season will be the introduction of the extra race on Saturday, followed by the classic race on Sunday. An unknown to take into account in all this will be the torrid heat, typical of the Andalusian summer.

Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal): "We are really excited to finally be able to start again. They have been difficult months for everyone, and coming back to racing is definitely a sign that things are improving day after day. During the break we continued, as far as possible, to work to be ready to get back on track in the best possible way: at Jerez we are ready to challenge our rivals, with the aim of picking up where we left off".

Andrea Locatelli: “Finally back to fighting on the track, I'm really happy. It will be a special weekend, both for the double race and the heat, as nobody has ever raced at Jerez in August, but I think the tests between June and July will help us adapt quickly. Seeing the whole paddock on again will be nice and maybe strange, almost as if the season starts this weekend: I really want to work with the team again, to get important championship points. We have two consecutive races ahead of us and a busy schedule, we just have to give our best right from the start!".
