Positive results for the Bardahl Evan Bros. team in the first tests of the new season in Jerez

The first two days of testing of the 2020 season for Bardahl Evan Bros. team ended on the Jerez - Angel Nieto track, a season that will allow the team for the first time to exhibit the effigy of the world champion team of its category. The tests on the Spanish track were primarily an opportunity to see at work the new purchase of the team that is Andrea Locatelli, at his first experience in the Supersport Championship.

The first day was obviously for Andrea to get to know the team and get to know his Yamaha YZF-R6 and Pirelli tyres, two absolute new things for the brilliant Italian rider. The day went regularly and smoothly: Locatelli completed 56 laps with a time of 1'43"474 as his best time, finishing fourth among the SSP riders at the end of the day, with a gap of only about three tenths from the fastest of the category.

In the second and last day of testing Locatelli has immediately shown that he has already learned several aspects of the motorcycle and tires, signing the best time among the Supersport riders. 1'42"683 his time, about eight tenths faster than the previous day, with 44 laps completed. Unfortunately, the day ended prematurely due to a crash caused by the oil left on the track by another rider and not properly reported. Locatelli did not suffer any physical damage during the crash and held the lead until the chequered flag at the end of the test.

Andrea Locatelli: "I am very satisfied with the progress of these tests. I was immediately comfortable with both the team and the bike, which is very important. I would have liked to have tested more, but having two bikes available with different configurations it was useful to make comparisons, to understand many useful things for the future. We could have finished the second day better, but unfortunately a crash caused by a technical problem to another rider forced us to stop early. Overall I'm happy, I didn't expect to be so quick on a track like Jerez already, the team is already working very well and I'm very confident".
